The Benefits of Being the Property Manager- Not the Owner
In the last lesson you learned that whomever holds the Power of Direction has the ultimate power over the Trust and the property within. While there are many reasons and benefits to assigning the POD you also learned to tread lightly when it comes to assigning the POD to someone other than yourself (the Beneficiary of the Trust). While assigning the POD can be a good asset protection technique, the mere fact that once you put your property into a Land Trust you are no longer the owner is a huge psychological benefit.
