Lesson 4: Pick a Land Trust Trustee
In the last lesson about Land Trusts I explained the difference between a standard Warranty Deed and a Deed to Trustee. You now know that to create a valid Land Trust you must use the proper deed format. You also know that title to the property held in a Land Trust is held strictly by the Trustee of the Land Trust and not the Beneficiary. The Beneficiary owns the Trust as a personal property interest.
Now that you know how the Trustee holds title to property inside a Land Trust, let’s explore who should be your Trustee and why. You’ll find out the main reasons why you should pick someone as your Trustee.
